About
I lead a simple and contemplative life in San Francisco, California where I have lived and worked since 1978. In my earlier days, I led a colorful life primarily in the North Beach area of the city where I was heavily influenced by other artists, poets, and musicians. My current influences are now mainly spiritual in nature: these include the teachings of The Tao, the pointings of Sri Mooji, and a regular practice of meditation and Tai Chi. Today I am fortunate to maintain studios in both SF and Sebastopol, Ca.
My painting style is informed through years of spiritual practice where the absence of the individual identity merges with the universal consciousness, and therefore is expressing through me as opposed to from me. As a result the painting, the painter, and the painting itself become one. The process is more of intuition and awareness in the absence of thinking and doer-ship.
